Ipswich High School is a comprehensive four-year High School serving 655 students in grades 9-12 founded in 1642. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. In 2012 Boston Magazine ranked Ipswich High School among the top 50 high schools in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The high school is renowned for its rigorous academics, strong music, art, and theater programs as well as its competitive athletic teams. Students can participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities including sixteen varsity sports and more than twenty-five after school clubs.

More than ninety percent of students attend college, and our students have been accepted at many of the nation's most prestigious universities. Nearly the entire faculty have obtained advanced degrees and the teachers continue to improve their craft through professional development. In 2006, the high school was named a "Blue Ribbon" school, an award for national excellence. The school also received a Vanguard award for similar academic prowess.

The current high school is a state of the art facility completed in 2000. The excellent Performing Arts Center and Athletics facilities are used by many community and regional groups.

Ipswich is a coastal community 28 miles north of Boston on Massachusetts.The Massachusetts North Shore renowned for its beautiful beaches and salt marshes, historic character, bucolic farms, and fresh seafood. Ipswich's 33 square miles includes thousand of acres of stunning conservation land and miles upon miles of estuary and tidal creeks for fishing, kayaking, and bird watching. Ipswich is one of the oldest towns in North America, settled in 1633, and has more 17th century homes than any other town in the United States. Ipswich is only a 45 minute drive from the cultural and historic attractions of Boston and Logan International Airport.
